When was your fashion line created?

SONYA VAJIFDAR was launched in May 2009.

What are some of the popular fashion trends where you live?

Like all over the world fashion trends are continuously changing in India as well. The only difference as I see it is there is a bigger market for resort wear, brighter colours and more embellishments.

Your rainwear is very unique, how has the public responded to these fun creations?

I am the only designer in India to have launched a designer rainwear collection, which was desperately needed, especially in my city-Mumbai. We have three months of monsoons. The public has responded very positively, two stores have actually launched the collection and we have had a press meet as well.  My rainwear designs have been featured on 3 TV shows.
